way too much NXE

NXE (aka New Xbox Experience) was released on Xbox 360 a couple of weeks ago, and since I've been more knee-deep in this console than I have been in a while. On my first weekend I casually indulged in some total anti-social activity by watching both seasons of 30 Rock using the Netflix instant play. That was pretty hardcore. Then I started my Thanksgiving holiday by playing hours of Valve's new zombie multi-player game Left 4 Dead with the brother, which is pure fun. Oh yeah, and my avatar is adorable.com, isn't she?

The combination of the show marathon and the game, however, lead me to overlap a suspiciously similar character. The random character picker in L4D would always assign me Louis, the somewhat dorky IT guy in a white button-up shirt. I've since reserved him as my gunman of choice when playing, quite possibly because he reminds me a whole lot of the writer Toofer from 30 Rock, both visually and vocally. Am I the only one who thinks so?

Zazen Boys

I don't know if its best practice to write a post that blatantly copies the topic and video that your friend posted only hours before, but its worth it, I promise. The friend is Brilliam, the topic is Zazen Boys, and the video is of their song "Weekend". Zazen Boys are a Japanese math rock/jam/indie rock band from Tokyo with a real sharp sound, and frankly I can't get enough of them today.

this week's plushes

I'm sick. It was a long time coming, and although I stayed in all weekend resting and watching 30 Rock (I love Lemon), it inevitably caught up to me. So while I was regaining my health I churned out two new plushes. I haven't created a plush since my friend Dan's present, so I figured it was about time to make a few more.

Unfortunately, neither of them have names. I'm out of creativity sauce, so you guys want to help me out?

Update: Thanks to the combined forces of Crap Artist and Brilliam, their names are now Higginbotham, Humble Prince Of Norfolk's Apple-Picking Industry (left) and SCUD Missile The Lesser, Usurper Of Thracia (right) or The Landlord & his Tenant for short (alright alright, I'm indecisive).

Flickr user proccesswhite reveals his inner Photo Booth monsters in a series of colorful photos he calls i-men. With over 200 photos to date, he's been creating bizarre and hilarious creatures since 2006, incorporating what could be baby toys, food, cameras, and some other indistinguishable props into his shots. These are definitely some of the best Photo Booth creations I've seen, and they all remind me an awful lot of the joy/fear/confusion I experienced when first seeing the helping hands fondle Jennifer Connelly the movie Labyrinth.
