It's Saturday and GDC is over! It's been a busy week of inspiring Indie developers, meeting up with old colleagues and friends and the like, but it was all a lot of fun. I have a few posts on their way outlining some of the highlights from this week, but until then, Dan Paladin has shared a handful of videos he saw in Japan which I'm posting for some good Saturday morning entertainment. I'm going to start with Mame-Shiba, but don't miss Giga Pudding and The World of Golden Eggs after the jump!
Mame-Shiba
While showing off his new game at the Tokyo Anime Fair, Dan picked up a ton of merchandise from the Mame-shiba booth. According to this article in Serious Eats, Mame-shiba is a tiny bean dog that appears and tells you entirely random facts as you're about to eat. Dan said that apparently the character isn't too popular in Japan, but it seems pretty random and funny to me!
Giga Pudding
Giga Pudding is what it is. It's a giant pail of pudding, that according to this commercial, one would buy in the place of a birthday cake or to eat by yourself in a shadowy corner of your house away from your wife. I love pudding, but I don't think I could ever eat a giga pudding.
The World of Golden Egg
I don't know too much about this cartoon, other than the fact that it's hilarious and the animation is *great* Update: Looks like the Man over in Japan took down the video. I tried to find a substitute on Nico Nico Douga, but apparently I can't read Japanese...

I love Japan.
Sure wish i was still going there this summer...*sigh*
Those まめしば commercials were really creepy though.
