All works found at Hollis Brown Thorton's Flickr
Artist Hollis Brown Thorton is doing it right. Paintings, transfer prints, and incredibly rich marker drawings explore mysterious sentiments of nostalgia in the form of VHS labels, dark and quiet arcade screens, and scuffed-out photos with no faces, creating an atmosphere of alienation amidst the familiar. And when the stretch of your 'messy' desk is a work of art, you know you're doing something right.
Too many favorites to list here, so be sure to visit his Flickr gallery and personal site to get the full spectrum of his work.
