“Ben Folds was a condescending prick. He decided we should make the interview about Carole King, who I know nothing about. So basically, it was an excuse to treat me like I was a moron for 30 minutes.”

Here's my opportunity to tell my "I met Ben Folds" mini-story. And it's even game related, I swear! Contrary to this quote, sampled from an article titled "14 Celebs Who Are Jerks In Person", Ben Folds was really nice and down-to-earth when I met him.
It was sometime in early 2007, when I was working as an intern for MTV's online gaming show "The G-Hole" (read more about that here). Ben Folds was in the MTV building, making the rounds between departments for photos and interviews. My boss thought it would be neat to get him for our show and record him playing Rockstar Game's newly released game at the time, Bully.
When he arrived on our floor he was relaxed and cooperative. My boss introduced all of us to him (including me, the lowly intern) and we made our way to the studio room and sat him down in front of a TV with a PS2. We started some small talk about games to get him comfortable, and it eventually became clear that Mr. Folds didn't play any games. In fact, he hadn't played a videogame since Space Invaders came out. Believe it or not, he looked at the PS2 and asked if you put CD-Roms in it to play games (he had never seen one before).
But despite the fact that he had no clue what he was doing, or how to manage the complex buttons and knobs of the PS2 controller, he pleasantly went along with the whole thing and did his best, telling stories about his brief but interesting brush with gaming while he beat up kids in Bully. Eventually, I was the one chosen to show him where the bathroom was on the floor, and while I was walking him there he asked me where I went to school and how I liked working at MTV.
When he left, he thanked us and went happily on his way. Unfortunately, MTV has since removed the G-Hole video he was featured in (unless, oddly enough, you are in Canda, then I think you can watch it here). He may not have known how to play videogames, but from my experience, I thought Ben Folds was a pretty decent guy.
