Rough Seas Day by Mark Ferrari and Joseph Huckaby
How about I make up for all the recent *cricket noise* on this blog with this double whammy of pixel stuff. First, point your browsers in the general direction of this stunning display of True 8-bit Color Cycling with HTML5 by Mark Ferrari and Joseph Huckaby. While the static piece shown above looks glorious, be sure to click through and cycle through all of the animated drawings and their variants. Oh, and the sound effects are ++.
Next up, a series of "Demake" mockups by junkboy that have been recently tossed around the web. "Demake" more or less means junkboy's retro-fied versions of modern games, such as the sweet mossy green pixels seen in retro-Deadspace above. He's showing off a whole boatload of these over at Pixelation, my other favorites being his take on Mirror's Edge and Brutal Legend (for purely obvious reasons).

Awesome stuff. Mountain Stream Morning blew my mind.

Demakes are cool, but I'm having trouble figuring out all of them. The racecar one (the one thats not mariokart), the alien one below it, and the cowboy one two below that are too vague for me to put a title on what it is. That and the flying boarder Kachi I don't recognize at all. Must know!
