Encountered this fascinating thread of photos via aaronrutledge.com. If anyone has any idea where this series came from, please let me know! A few of my favorites are shown below:
Edit: The photographs are by a Korean photographer named Yeondoo Jung, who's works can be found either here or here. Thank you everyone in the comments for your help!

It's a series of photographs made by a Taiwanese artist called Yeondoo Jung entitled Wonderland made in 2005 . Follow this link to view all the photos in the series at the artists website.You're welcome :-)

Yeondoo Jung is Korean, not Taiwanese.
And he's represented by Tina Kim Gallery (New York) http://www.tinakimgallery.com/ where the Wonderland series was first shown in 2005.
