In a weirdly prophetic way that song is completely apt. The songs of The Misfits (the actual band, not their cartoon namesakes) really were better than the mainstream pop pabulum (here represented by Jem and her precious Holograms), despite droning musicianship and a tendency to appear simplistic and overly dark. Go Team Pretension!
