Butter Poached Lobster Shooter

I'm not one to frequent the food channels, but I've caught a few minutes of Paula Deen's cooking show over my Mom's shoulder before. One thing is clear, Paula has absolutely no shame in her super fatty, high caloric, cooking. So when she's showcasing a 4lb measuring cup of clarified butter for her butter poached lobster shooters, you can see the butter-colored halo of excitement engulf her.

Did you watch that video? That's a lot of butter. So much butter that I decided to blog about it, but this wasn't the post I was originally thinking of:

Today Kat and I rode our bikes up through Golden Gate Park and happened upon a Six Apart company BBQ! By the time we got there, the kickball game was halfway through and most of the eatables were eaten, so naturally we gravitated towards cute dogs and bounce houses for entertainment. Fun, sun, and bouncing was had.

I had yet to test out Adobe Lightroom, a gift from my friend Zach, so when I returned home with a few colorful shots from the BBQ I decided to try it out. Like most adobe products, the software does wonders! My tinny cybershot photos turned out much more robust in color and clarity after a run through Lightroom. My favorite shot is the above photo of Rudy, but feel free to check out the rest of the set on my flickr.

E3.last.day.

Well, it's the last day here at E3. I'm pretty exhausted, and am kind of looking forward to heading home and conking out on the bed. But hey, it's been pretty great so far. Yesterday I had a chance to play Mirror's Edge and Rhythm Heaven, both of which basically made the trip worthwhile for me. You can catch up with some of my impressions over on Destructoid, but for now here's me telling my favorite man in the world, Chad Concelmo, about the more interesting instruments available in WiiMusic. Woo hoo!

So, I'm here!

Can't talk much as I have plenty of posts to write up for Destructoid, but things are pretty alright so far. This morning I woke up at 6 to be ready in time for the Nintendo press conference at 9, which sadly was pretty disappointing. Their biggest announcement was the introduction of the WiiMotion Plus, which essentially just makes the Wiimote work the way it was supposed to in the first place. The end all announcement was WiiMusic, which as you can tell, I did not have the most riveting impressions of.

Since then, I've been running around to various meetings... rapidly taking notes and trying to maintain a clam sense of sanity. I have yet to make it to the showroom floor to try any games hands-on, but all in due time I'm sure. Oh, and I'm also trying on Bionic arms. Pretty cool right?

p.s. I got a haircut :D

I was having a pretty miserable day today. A vicious combination of stress, frustration, and loneliness typically will do the trick. Thank the gods that I have good friends, like ee.en, who even after he was drenched with my personal sorrows, went out of his way to send me this song. Interpret it how you like, but listening to A Postcard to Nina was exactly what I needed.
