"On the plane to America with Sayaka" by Ryan Smith
I'll admit I haven't really been impressed by most of the artwork that has been solely created on the iPad, but I think artist Ryan Smith's iPad sketches are really wonderful. The color and strokes he uses have a really genuine in-the-moment energy, and I love the idea of the iPad as the convenient on-the-go sketchbook.
Check out more of Ryan's work on his flickr and his website. I hope he keeps doing these!
Which app is that?

Ryan says he uses an app called "Brushes".

Yeah! Brushes. It's good! It's super simple, so youre just drawing with one finger, and there's a real simple interface to zoom in and out, or switch brushes quickly. It has layers, too. I really like it because I can draw with so much color, which I usually don't do with just a pen and a sketchbook.
