NES cartridge painting by Jim Bradshaw via GameSetWatch
Portland's Ground Kontrol has a terrific looking show up until the end of the month called 8-bit Calavera. The show features a series of 40 artists who honor Dia De Los Muertos with individually painted NES Cartridges. Some of the paintings speak to the games themselves, like this Dr. Mario painting by Glen Brogan, while others keep to the traditional style of Dia De Los Muertos folk art. Wish I could see this in person! Thanks to Ginevra for the tip!

you must come visit PDX and go to Ground Kontrol. I'm sort've terrible at video games, but I could see playing the ye olde videoe games for hours, like my gramma at the slot machines. It is awesome dot com.
