I'm feeding the wildfire here, as I'm sure the lot of you have seen and drooled over Brandon Boyer's collaborative post with Superbrothers on Boing Boing, but Less Talk More Rock simply isn't to be missed. Inspired by Superbrother's talk at GDC this year, the article argues through words and signature Superbrother illustrations that "the native language of videogames is neither spoken nor written."

Do the illustrations appear wonderful/amazing/and vaguely familiar? That's right, this is the same guy who's coming out with Sword & Sworcery EP later this year. In other words, Superbrothers is doing everything right. Don't miss this post!

Scott Campbell's GREAT SHOWDOWNS

Scott Campbell, illustrator of all things great, just announced a new tumblr site titled The GREAT SHOWDOWNS on which he will post a new comic of a famous showdown every day. Campbell's work for The LOST Underground Art Show last year included a series of LOST themed showdowns, and were my favorite pieces of the bunch. This is that, but more! So great!

Sent to me by pen pal and fellow Twin Peaks enthusiast Tim Höfer, a lucious pixel painting of the iconic Red Room and a few other familiar Twin Peaks icons. That cherry pie looks good enough to eat, but honestly, the coffee could be a little more black. As black as midnight on a moonless night, that is.

Spoiler Alert! QA'ing for video games is NOT A PRIZE

The Tester is going straight for that niche of people who need reality television but just can't find a reason to leave the comfort of the PlayStation Network. Or rather, for all the dreamers dreamin' on about getting a QA job for Sony. Because that's definitely what dreams are made of when it comes to working for the game industry. Just imagine! *sigh*

The Tester is definitely something else. I don't want to spoil the trailer for you if you haven't already seen it (see it), but there's plenty to gawk at. Let's just end this post with a quote from my good friend Steve after seeing the trailer:

Dark Igloo (click! there's a fun website to be had!), the design studio powered by one of my favorite illustrators Dave Franzese and Mark Miller, put together this promotional video for The Pump Energy Food. The video showcases a load of grotesque food in a colorful and disgusting montage of burger injections, crap sticks, and other tastes you can taste. Fun stuff, and reminiscent of some of the Saucemens commercials from Tom Goes to the Mayor.
