Bring in the summer tunes - "Baby I'm Yours" by Breakbot

The whole Ed Banger thing didn't age well, and neither did my fanaticism. When I graduated college about three years ago, I was going mad on Justice, Uffie, and the like. But it feels like the momentum they had was vacuumed by over zealous MySpace tours playing the same ish, and over time I totally lost interest.

That said, Breakbot is the only buddy in the Ed Banger crew that I can still get behind. His songs are always colorful and playful, the kind of thing that you would listen to with the windows open and the sun shining on your forehead. This video for his new track "Baby I'm Yours" featuring Irfane is just the same. Beautifully animated with over 2,000 hand watercolored images, this feels all kinds of summer to me, and I'm ready for it.

Gamepro is doing a terrific miniseries in which they tell (the) tale (ohhhh! did you see what I did there?) of Sam & Max, featuring the history behind the freelance police duo and how they have worked their ways over the last few decades to eventually star in their third episodic game, The Devil's Playhouse, now available on Telltale Games. 

Episode one is all about famed game and comic artist, Steve Purcell, and how Sam & Max made their way into the game industry. It's great, so you should watch it. Then again, my fangirlism for Steve Purcell has no bounds, especially since I met him in the flesh a few years ago and he drew me a set of personalized cocktail drawings, so I may be a *bit* biased. Anyway, can't wait to see the next video!

Spotted on Warner Crocker's blog (via @brandonnn, that is), here's Iggy the cat and his first experience with the famed Apple iPad.

Despite the pure joy in watching Iggy paw around with the Noby Noby Boy iPad app, showcasing typical cat-chasing-something-weird behavior, the best part is later in the video when he begins to hit some music notes with Smule's Magic Piano. Look at how curious that cat is!

As rautiocination says about his cat Iggy, "My cat enjoys the future!"

It's Kid CuDi Music Video Time!

I'm not gonna lie. When it comes down to my favorite "hipster" rapper, I'll take Kid CuDi over Kanye any day. Yeah yeah, Kanye is cool and all, but CuDi sounds a little more sincere to me. Maybe it's because those flannel shirts and thick-rimmed glasses fit CuDi's figure so well (*swoon*), but uh, who knows.

Anyway, I've been YouTube-in' and Vimeo-in' Cudi's range of music video appearances, and there are quite a few worth sharing. His collaboration with Ratatat and MGMT in "Pursuit of Happiness" is by far my favorite of the three, but the data bending in Kanye's "Welcome to Heartbreak" is too cool to miss. If you're interested, HypeBeast just posted a new video with Snoop Dogg and CuDi, but it's some pretty silly stuff.

Everyone's making WarioWare: D.I.Y. games!

Nintendo is doing a terrific series of mini-video-tutorials featuring some of my favorite indie game developers using WarioWare: D.I.Y. to create custom "micro"-games. I'm buddies with both the Gaijin folks and Mr. Carmel, so I'm really getting a kick out of watching them demonstrate their game-making. They all do a great job!
